Shivamogga: The farmers’ organisation have called for Bharat Bandh on March 26 to mark the completion of four months of farmers’ protest in Delhi by Raita Kisan Morcha that began on November 26, 2020.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday March 24, farmer leader H.R. Basavaraj said that in Shivamogga they have planned to protest in front of District Commissioner’s office and will symbolically assign to flames the farmers’ law, he informed.
He also challenged the authorities that farmers cannot be discouraged by moves like slapping suo moto case against leader Rakesh Tikait. He alleged that it is the state government which is behind the police slapping case against him. If the force is used to stop protest, our unity and agitation will only strengthen, he stressed
He said that on April 26 it has been planned to conduct Raita Maha Panchayat. In this regard, a preparatory meeting will be held on April 1 in Bengaluru under the leadership of Darshan Pal.
Denying Eshwarappa’s allegations that the farmer leaders are misleading innocent farmers, Basavaraj said that farmers at the Maha Panchayat joined in voluntarily and no force or money was involved like how it happens in politics.
