Shivamogga: MLA Ashok Naik’s mock funeral procession was taken out by Sri Kallaghatta Chowdeshwari and Bhooteshwara Swamy Hindu Religious Protection Forum to Mahaveer Circle in the City for allegedly vandalising the Bhooteshwara Temple at Akshara Shala.
A week ago, a road blockade was held alleging that the Bhooteshwara Temple was vandalised by MLA Ashok Naik. As part of another round of protests today, the protesters marched from a distance of around 6 to7 kms and staged a mock funeral procession up to Gopi Circle and then burnt the effigy.
The 2-acre and 26-gunta lake in Survey No. 9 of Channamumbapura has been encroached upon by 1 acre and 20 guntas. The lake should be removed from encroachments. Akshara School constructed in the buffer zone of the lake should be cleared, they demanded.
