Shivamogga: Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah’s announcement of candidates was wrong. It was a kind of political adultery, said Former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he said that it was wrong for Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah to announce candidates in Koppal. The party’s election committee will select and then the candidates will be announced.
He alleged “In the political system of the country, those with different levels of power must act within their own limitations. Siddaramaiah should announce candidates in all the 224 constituencies.”
He questioned that why should only Siddaramaih supporters’ be declared as candidates? “If D. K. Shivakumar has the slightest respect, he should resign from the post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President because he has not given any special status to the Leader of the Opposition.
He challenged “Let all those holding the post of Working President, including Satish Jarakiholi, announce five or ten seats. The ticket was announced even before the application process was over. This is a kind of political adultery. It has grown up with a national ideology. As Siddaramaiah has begun this kind of behaviour, all the others have followed,” he alleged.
