The incident occurred in Bikkona village, where Yashodamma, a 42-year-old woman, lost her life while tending to the field. The unfortunate event marks the first recorded fatality resulting from a leopard attack in the region. The incident took place in Survey No. 9 of Bikkonahalli in Shivamogga.
