In a shocking incident near Maganur Gate in Malavalli taluk, a 26-year-old man named Yogesh, resident of Gangamata Street, was brutally murdered inside a bar on Wednesday evening.

According to police sources, Yogesh was lured to the bar by a group of men. While consuming alcohol, an argument reportedly broke out. The confrontation escalated quickly, leading the assailants to stab Yogesh multiple times with a knife, killing him on the spot.

Preliminary investigations suggest revenge as the possible motive. A few months earlier, Yogesh was allegedly involved in a bar fight where he fractured another youth’s hand. Authorities believe that Wednesday’s attack was likely a retaliatory act connected to that incident.

Senior police officials, including SP Mallikarjuna Baladandi, Deputy Commissioner Kumara, DSP Krishnappa, and Rural Circle Inspector Mahesh, visited the scene to oversee the investigation. A special task force has been set up to identify and apprehend the culprits.

A murder case has been registered at the Malavalli Rural Police Station, and efforts are underway to gather CCTV footage and witness statements to track down those involved.

The brutal killing has sparked tension in the area, with police deploying additional forces to prevent any unrest and reassure locals. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
