Mysuru: In a horrifying act of violence in broad daylight, a woman was fatally stabbed by a man allegedly enraged over a failed love affair. The victim, identified as Poornima (36), a school teacher from Elekere Hand Post in Pandavapura, succumbed to her injuries shortly after being rushed to the hospital. Reports indicate she died without receiving timely medical attention.

The tragic incident occurred within the Ashokapuram police station limits, though initial reports mentioned Lakshmipuram jurisdiction. The attacker, Abhishek, hailing from Kyatanahalli village in Pandavapura taluk, Mandya district, reportedly approached Poornima and stabbed her after she rejected his romantic advances.

Eyewitnesses described the shocking scene as Poornima tried to escape the assailant’s assault. She collapsed on the road, bleeding profusely. Emergency responders arrived, but she was declared dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.

Following the attack, Abhishek attempted to flee, but police teams acted swiftly and took him into custody a few hours later. Preliminary investigations suggest the motive was linked to one-sided love and the victim’s refusal to accept the relationship.
