A 28-year-old woman and her nine-year-old daughter were found dead, hanging from a ceiling fan in Nehru Nagar Layout, Mandya, on Wednesday. The victims have been identified as Rashmi, originally from Bengaluru, and her young daughter.
Police revealed that Rashmi had been living separately from her husband and was employed at a private firm in Mandya. Preliminary investigations suggest she was emotionally distressed due to her isolation and may have taken the tragic step out of despair. Both mother and child were discovered hanging from the same fan.
A suicide note was found at the scene, and Mandya East Police have registered a case and begun further inquiries.
