Bantwal– Thieves have made away with items valued at around ₹4 lakh from the crematorium in Devinagar, Amttadi village, under the Amttadi gram panchayat. The theft came to light on August 11.

Among the stolen property were a silicon cremation chamber, a brass water pot, an iron ladder, an iron gate, and several other articles.

The incident was discovered when locals gathered at the crematorium on August 11 for the funeral of Ittappa Poojary, a resident of the area.

Amttadi gram panchayat president Vijay Kumar stated that a formal complaint regarding the theft will be lodged at Bantwal Town Police Station.
