Mangaluru: Expressing strong disapproval of the Congress-led Karnataka government, around 40,000 citizens and BJP supporters reportedly took part in 399 protest locations across the undivided Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, according to MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty.

As part of this statewide agitation, the BJP Mangaluru City North Mandal held a demonstration in front of the Surathkal City Municipality Office on Monday.

Protesters voiced frustration over multiple unresolved public issues. These included the long delay in issuing 9/11 approvals under the 94C title deed scheme, hardships caused by the e-Khata system, and the non-payment of old-age pensions and Sandhya Suraksha schemes.

They also raised concerns over the revocation of valid BPL cards, the rejection of new ration card applications, and alleged that no special grants were allocated to the Mangaluru City Corporation in the last two years.

Dr. Bharath Shetty, who led the protest, said the government has consistently neglected essential civic needs, adding that the public is growing impatient with the administration’s inaction.

A large number of BJP karyakartas and local residents joined the demonstration, demanding immediate redressal of these civic and welfare issues.
