Mangaluru: A heartbreaking incident was reported near Adyar on Wednesday morning when a bus conductor collapsed and died while working on a college bus operated by Nitte (deemed-to-be university).
The deceased, Santosh (40), a resident of Kuthar, had been serving the Nitte institution for several years. On the morning of the tragedy, he was assigned to pick up students from various locations. While assisting children as they boarded the bus, he suddenly collapsed.
Local residents quickly came forward to help and attempted to rush him to a nearby hospital. Sadly, Santosh passed away on the way. Initial findings indicate a suspected heart attack as the cause of death.
Santosh is survived by his wife and children. He was on a regular trip transporting students from government schools and hostels—a service Nitte institution has been providing for many years—when the untimely incident took place.
