Mangaluru: A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus was involved in a minor road accident on Monday afternoon near Kotekarubiri, close to Beeri Junction, causing injuries to a car driver and briefly disrupting traffic.

The mishap occurred as the KSRTC bus, en route from Kasaragod to Mangaluru, slowed down at Beeri Junction to allow passengers to alight. A car trailing behind failed to brake in time and crashed into the back of the bus.

The collision caused significant damage—crumpling the rear section of the bus and crushing the front of the car. The driver of the car sustained injuries in the impact and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.

Due to the accident, traffic movement along the busy national highway was briefly affected, leading to a short delay for commuters.

Mangaluru South Traffic Police responded swiftly, arriving at the site to assess the situation. They managed to restore order and streamline vehicle flow within a short time.

Authorities have launched a probe into the cause of the crash and are collecting details from eyewitnesses and both drivers involved.
