Mangaluru: An inspiring incident of alertness and dedication played out at Mangaluru International Airport on Monday, as a traveler was reunited with his bag containing valuables worth Rs 20 lakh and Rs 1 lakh in cash.

The bag, unintentionally left behind at a food outlet located on the ground floor of the arrivals section, was promptly noticed by vigilant Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. Upon spotting the unattended item, the team swiftly secured it and handed it over to the terminal manager’s office for safekeeping.

In a display of quick thinking, the CISF team utilized a mobile phone found inside the bag to establish contact with its owner. The passenger, who had traveled approximately 50 km to Udupi, was informed that his belongings were safe. Overwhelmed with relief, he returned to the airport without delay to retrieve the bag.

The collaborative efforts of the CISF and the airport management ensured that all items remained untouched and accounted for. The passenger expressed immense gratitude for the team’s efficiency and dedication.

This seamless recovery underscores the importance of vigilance and teamwork in maintaining security and assisting travelers at airports.
