Due to incessant rains, floodwaters engulfed several houses, including the residence of 80-year-old Lakshmi. Upon receiving a distress call from Yatish, fire service personnel promptly arrived at the scene to find the house inundated with muddy water, with gas cylinders and a refrigerator floating.

With determination, the fire personnel waded through waist-high water and used clothes to shift the elderly woman to safety in a neighboring house. Given the absence of relatives in Mangaluru, the fire department sought refuge for Lakshmi and her daughter Chandravathy from a kind neighbor until the floodwaters subsided.

Yatish expressed heartfelt gratitude to the fire department for their prompt action, despite difficulties in reaching the local corporator. The rescue operation, led by Assistant Fire Officer Abdul Hameed and involving Leading Fireman Chandrashekar Salian, Driver Dayakar, and Fire personnel Shivaraj and Siddesh, exemplifies the dedication and heroism of emergency responders in times of crisis.
