Mangaluru, June 28, 2024: A tragic incident of electrocution has resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman in Shibaje village, Belthangady taluka, Dakshina Kannada district. The victim, identified as Pratiksha Shetty, lost her life on Thursday evening while collecting a parcel outside her house.
According to the police, Pratiksha was fatally electrocuted when she came into contact with an electric source. Her father, who attempted to rescue her, also sustained injuries during the incident. Pratiksha hailed from Bargula hamlet in Shibaje village.
The police have conducted a post-mortem examination and subsequently handed over the body to the family for final rites. This unfortunate incident marks the second case of electrocution reported in the region this week, following the deaths of two autorickshaw drivers who encountered a live cable in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru, earlier on Tuesday.
