Mangaluru: The Coastal Development Board, Government of Karnataka, in association with the NSS Unit of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital (FMHMCH), Deralakatte, organised a Ullal Beach Cleaning Drive on 6 December 2025 from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Students from Father Muller College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FMCOPS) enthusiastically joined the initiative.

Dignitaries emphasise environmental responsibility
Shri M. A. Gafoor, Chairman of the Coastal Development Board, addressed the volunteers, stressing the important role of youth in environmental conservation.
Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, encouraged students to uphold values of cleanliness, and highlighted the need to preserve water, land, and clean air.

Active participation from 150 NSS volunteers
A total of 150 NSS volunteers from FMHMC and FMCOPS took part, displaying exemplary enthusiasm towards cleanliness and environmental preservation.
Dr Deeraj Fernandes, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the gathering, while Medical Social Worker Mr Sowhad coordinated the programme.
Commitment to environmental stewardship
The drive reflected the institutions’ ongoing dedication to community service and ecological responsibility. NSS student representatives Mr Pranava and Ms Khushi (IV BHMS) were present, and Mr Sriram (IV BHMS) compered the session.
