Mangaluru – A sudden spell of heavy rain and powerful winds swept through parts of Mangaluru on Saturday evening, leading to the uprooting of a large tree near Navabharat Circle.
The tree fell directly onto a car parked by the roadside, causing significant damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Responding quickly, fire and emergency services, along with Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) teams, arrived at the scene and began clearance operations to remove the fallen tree and restore the area to normalcy.
The unexpected weather also resulted in traffic delays and minor flooding in low-lying areas across the city, causing temporary inconvenience to commuters.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions, especially in areas with large trees or weak structures.
