The confrontation between MLA Harish Poonja and the police officials, coupled with protests over two cases registered against BJP leader Shashiraj Shetty and his subsequent arrest, kept tensions high throughout the day.

The situation escalated as police officers expressed their determination to arrest the MLA amidst heated discussions with advocates. To maintain order, four groups of KSRP officials, along with SIs and circle inspectors from all police stations, were deployed in the Gardadi area.

In the evening, a large gathering of party workers prevented the police from entering the MLA’s house, further escalating tensions. However, MP Nalin Kumar intervened, offering himself for arrest instead. Subsequently, the DySP and circle inspector sought permission to enter the house.

Upon MLA Harish Poonja’s instruction to his party workers to allow the police entry, officials finally gained access to the house. The day’s dramatic events concluded with the police issuing notices to MLA Poonja to appear for questioning before departing.
