Investigation Underway After Intruder Trespasses Into Puttur Girls’ Hostel

Mangaluru: Police are intensifying their investigation into a disturbing incident at a government girls’ hostel in Puttur, where an unidentified man allegedly trespassed on November 6 between 2:30 am and 3:30 am. The intruder crossed the hostel boundary and accessed the first floor of the building while the girls were asleep.

The incident was noticed when one of the residents, who had returned from the washroom, spotted the man and immediately alerted the others. However, by the time they began searching for him, the intruder had already fled.

A senior officer from the Puttur Women’s police station confirmed that a formal complaint was filed, leading to the registration of a case. The police have collected CCTV footage of the intruder, which has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
