JD(S) MLC Ramesh Gowda filed the complaint with the Director General and Inspector General of Police of Karnataka, as well as the Superintendents of Police in Shivamogga and Raichur districts. The complaint revolves around Rahul Gandhi’s address during a rally on May 2, where he allegedly made accusations against Prajwal Revanna.

According to the complaint, Rahul Gandhi claimed that Prajwal Revanna had raped 400 women and filmed the acts. Emphasizing the severity of these allegations, Gowda stressed the need for justice for the alleged victims. He argued that Rahul Gandhi should provide details of the purported victims to a Special Investigation Team.

Gowda further contended that Rahul Gandhi’s statement implied he possessed knowledge of the specific details and identities of the alleged victims but failed to disclose this information. As a result, he suggested that Rahul Gandhi may be liable to be booked for an offense under Section 202 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
