Mangaluru— The St Lawrence Shrine in Bondel welcomed a special guest on Saturday as U T Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, paid a cordial visit. He was received warmly by parish priest and shrine rector Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza with a flower bouquet.
During his visit, Khader lit candles before St Lawrence, seeking blessings, and was honoured with a shawl and memento as a gesture of appreciation.
In a short address, he extended heartfelt wishes for the upcoming Feast of St Lawrence, offering advance greetings to all parishioners and devotees.
The occasion was attended by Prakash Pinto, current shrine convenor; Rudy Pinto, former convenor; Stany Alvares, president of Karnataka Sahitya Academy; Melwine D’Souza, former member of DK Zilla Panchayat; PPC members; and parishioners who had gathered to witness the event.
The visit fostered a sense of fellowship and goodwill, adding to the festive spirit surrounding the shrine’s celebrations.
