Mangaluru – In observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a special awareness programme was held in Kavoor. The event was a collaborative effort between Mangaluru North ACP Sub-Division (Panambur) and Dr Thunga’s Manaswini Hospital, Arkula, aimed at educating the public on the dangers of drug use and the urgency of stopping illegal trafficking.
Spotlight on Prevention Through Family & Community
Shashikala, a counsellor from Manaswini Hospital, spoke on the need for strong family and community involvement in preventing addiction. She emphasized that early signs of substance use can often be caught at home or school if families remain observant and proactive.
Police Lead the Way
Assistant commissioner of police Shrikanth K, along with inspectors from Kavoor, Panambur, Surathkal, Mulki, Bajpe, and Moodbidri, attended the event. Their participation signalled the strong role of law enforcement in tackling drug crimes and supporting awareness campaigns.
Community-Wide Engagement
