Mangaluru: As conflicts and unrest continue to affect several parts of the world, the Sri Kudroli Gokarnanath Temple in Mangaluru took a spiritual step toward promoting peace. On Thursday morning, the temple’s Administration and Development Committee organized a series of powerful rituals including Shatha Seeya Abhishekam, Maharudra Abhishekam, and special prayers, all intended to invoke global harmony and well-being.
The rituals were led by the Temple Development Committee, under the leadership of President Jairaj H. Somasundaram, along with Secretary Madhav Suvarna and Treasurer Padmaraj R. Poojari. Key trustees like Kritin Deeraj Amin and Kishore Dandekeri, as well as Development Committee President Devendra Poojari and Vice President B. G. Suvarna, played active roles.
The event also saw the participation of several public figures and community leaders. Among them were Dakshina Kannada District Congress President Harish Kumar, former Minister B. Ramanath Rai, and Legislative Council Member Ivan D’Souza. KCDC Chairperson Mamatha Gatti, former mayors Shashidhar Hegde and Bhaskar Moily, and ex-corporators such as Appi, Anilkumar, and Naveen D’Souza also attended.
Prominent women leaders including Mahila Congress President Shalette Pinto, Jayanthi Poojari Bantwal, and Baby Kunder joined in the observance, along with many religious and educational figures such as Padmanabha Kotian, Vasanth Karandur, Nagesh Karkera, and college principals.
Members from various community organizations, religious bodies, and hundreds of devotees gathered in unity to pray for world peace and humanity’s well-being.
