Puttur – A massive landslide near Mannagundi, close to Nelyadi, brought traffic to a standstill on National Highway 75. Vehicles were seen lined up for long distances as the road remained blocked.

The situation worsened with the closure of the Ichlampady–Mandka road, where floodwaters from the overflowing Gundya stream submerged parts of the route, further hampering movement.

In a separate incident, a severe landslide at Marenahalli in Sakleshpur taluk has completely halted travel through the Shiradi Ghat stretch. As a precaution, Hassan Deputy Commissioner Latha Kumari has issued diversion orders.

Motorists heading from Bengaluru to Mangaluru are being rerouted through the Hassan–Belur–Charmadi Ghat route. Likewise, those travelling from Mangaluru are advised to use the Charmadi or Sampaje Ghat alternatives until normalcy is restored.
