Dharmasthala: Police investigate verbal abuse and assault case

A man was verbally abused and physically assaulted at Arasinamakki in the Dharmasthala police station limits on Monday, police reported.

The complainant, Rajath Bhandari, a resident of Belthangady, was at work at a local saloon when Kiran Shishila, arriving in a car, allegedly forcefully entered the shop. According to police, Kiran verbally abused Rajath, physically assaulted him, and issued a death threat.

Case registered under BNS

Following the incident, Rajath lodged a complaint at the Dharmasthala police station. A case has been registered under sections 329(4), 352, 115(2), 351(2), and 110 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The police have confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify the circumstances and motive behind the attack, and appropriate legal action will follow.

Authorities have urged business owners and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Police say that registering formal complaints is critical in ensuring swift action against perpetrators.
