In a shocking incident on Sunday, a man from Kaikamba, identified as Sandeep, attempted to take his own life along with his 2-year-old child on Gurupura Bridge in Mangaluru. Witnesses reported seeing Sandeep standing on the bridge with the child in his arms, apparently preparing to jump.
Upon realizing the dire situation, motorists passing by immediately took action, intervening to pull the man and child to safety. As tensions flared, the crowd became enraged by Sandeep’s reckless actions and reportedly attacked him for endangering the child’s life.
According to initial investigations by the Bajpe police, Sandeep’s drastic decision seems to be linked to a family conflict. A police officer from Bajpe station stated, “This appears to be a result of ongoing family issues, and we are conducting further inquiries to fully understand the situation.”
Fortunately, both Sandeep and his child were unharmed. However, the unsettling event left many onlookers deeply disturbed. Authorities are now delving into the details of the family dispute that may have led to this desperate act.
