Mangaluru: In a heartwarming display of integrity, an auto-rickshaw driver from Mangaluru has set a shining example by returning a gold bracelet worth over ₹1 lakh to its rightful owner after discovering it near Jeppu Market.

Vamana Nayak, a resident of Mulihitlu, spotted the 17.5-gram gold ornament lying unattended by the roadside. Rather than keep the valuable item, Nayak took the initiative to trace the owner by referring to posts about the missing bracelet that were circulating on social media platforms.

Through this digital trail, he was able to identify and contact Chandrahass K., a resident of Jeppinamogaru, who had lost the bracelet. Nayak returned the item without expecting anything in return, ensuring that the gold ornament found its way back to its rightful owner.

Vamana Nayak’s sincere gesture has won the hearts of many. Locals and netizens alike praised his honesty and integrity, calling it a “rare and commendable act” in today’s times.

Recognising his ethical conduct, the Dakshina Kannada District Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Association has announced that Nayak will be felicitated for his selfless act.
