Mangaluru International Airport (IXE) has strengthened regional connectivity with the launch of direct flights to Pune, Maharashtra’s IT powerhouse.
Air India Express inaugurated the new route on January 4, 2025. The airline now offers two weekly services every Saturday to meet the growing demand for travel between these dynamic cities.
Route Highlights
The maiden flight, IX 2256, departed Mangaluru at 8:00 AM, arriving at Pune Airport (PNQ) at 9:25 AM. The return journey, IX 2257, left Pune at 9:55 AM, landing in Mangaluru by 11:45 AM. Captain Asatkar Dipak Daulat, supported by a skilled first officer and a four-member cabin crew, piloted the inaugural service.
Acknowledging passenger demand, the airline also introduced an evening schedule. Flight IX 2236 leaves Mangaluru at 6:30 PM and arrives in Pune by 8:00 PM. The return service, IX 2237, departs Pune at 8:35 PM and lands in Mangaluru at 10:05 PM.
