Ongoing Search for Naxals Following Encounter in Peetabailu
The search for Naxals continues in the aftermath of the encounter with Vikram Gowda at Peetabailu. Intensive combing operations are being conducted in the areas surrounding Kabbinale, Mattavu, Nadpalu, and Peetabailu by ANF (Anti-Naxal Force) personnel.
The investigation is being led by the DySP of Hebri police station, who is coordinating the search with police officers from Hebri and ANF. The public in the Peetabailu area remains on edge following the encounter, and the family members of the house where Vikram Gowda was confronted have not returned. Reports suggest that they plan to perform a pooja before re-entering their home. Meanwhile, ANF personnel are stationed at a nearby residence, forcing the residents to seek refuge with relatives.
Karkala DySP P Aravind, the lead investigator, confirmed that the inquiry into Vikram Gowda’s encounter is ongoing. The authorities are awaiting the results of the post-mortem and forensic reports to provide further clarity on the incident.
