To promote a secure and inclusive learning space, the Institute of Port, Shipping and Logistics Management conducted an Anti-Ragging Awareness Session on July 19, aimed at first-year students. Led by Dr Venkatesh S. Amin, the Dean, the session highlighted the grave impact of ragging on students’ mental and physical health.

Dr Amin began by defining various forms of ragging, including subtle psychological forms often overlooked. He explained UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, citing real cases that underline the lasting harm to both victims and offenders. The students were introduced to the institute’s anti-ragging policy, support helplines, and safe complaint mechanisms.
Importantly, the dean emphasized mentorship over hierarchy, encouraging students to build relationships rooted in guidance, not fear.
