
Three Women Arrested in Separate Gold Theft Cases in Puttur
Mangaluru: The Puttur Town police have cracked two theft cases, arresting three women involved in stealing gold ornaments.
Case 1:
Jyoti and Yashoda, hailing from Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, were detained on December 19 for stealing gold jewelry worth ₹25,000 from Saraswati, a resident of Golthamajalu village. The incident occurred at the Puttur KSRTC bus stand, and the stolen ornaments were successfully recovered.
Case 2:
Vidya, a Neermarga resident, was arrested for stealing three gold rings valued at ₹77,000 from a jeweler on Court Road, Puttur. Posing as a customer, she executed the theft on December 13. Acting on jeweler Shivaprasad Bhat’s complaint filed on December 19, the police swiftly apprehended Vidya and retrieved the stolen rings.
Both cases highlight the vigilance of the Puttur Town police in tackling thefts and recovering stolen property.
