Mangaluru: Following continuous heavy rainfall in the region, the connecting road between KIOCL Junction and Kulur Arch Bridge on NH-66 has suffered significant damage, prompting authorities to restrict vehicle movement for urgent repairs.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that the affected stretch will be closed to all traffic from 8 pm on July 21 until 8 am on July 24 to carry out essential repair work.

The damaged portion has become increasingly difficult for commuters to navigate. Although minor fixes were attempted earlier, persistent rain has caused recurring deterioration. With asphalting currently unviable due to wet conditions, the NHAI will now proceed with paver block restoration.

Officials have urged motorists and the general public to cooperate during the closure and use alternative routes during this period. The measure aims to ensure safety and smoother travel conditions once repairs are completed.
