
Youth Arrested for Attempting to Smuggle Phones and Cigarettes into Mangaluru Prison

Mangaluru: A 21-year-old youth, identified as Prajwal from Panjimogaru, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly attempting to smuggle mobile phones and cigarettes into the district prison.
Prajwal was apprehended near the main gate of Canara College around 3 PM while trying to toss sealed bundles, wrapped in red tape, over the prison boundary. Alert KSISF personnel detained him and inspected the bundles, which contained two keypad mobile phones and two packets of cigarettes.
Further investigation revealed that Prajwal had a criminal history and was previously imprisoned in connection with another case. The Barke police have registered a case and are continuing their inquiry into the incident.
