Mysuru: A tourist-friendly initiative by the district administration will enable the people coming to the city to visit Mysore Palace, Zoo, Chamundi Hills and Karanji Lake with a single ticket. The pilot project will be launched from January next year.
During a preliminary meeting at the Conference Hall in Mysuru Palace here on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner D Randeep, who is also the Executive Director of Palace Board disclosed that integrated tickets would be issued to the tourists who visit Mysore Palace, Zoo, Chamundi Hill and Karanji Lake on payment of a prescribed fee plus eight percent as commission. The initiative will help tourists save their precious time by not having to stand in long queues for tickets. BookMyShow would be implementing the project and has been given the responsibility of identifying the various tourist spots to be integrated.
Rakesh N, a tourist from Chennai said, “If the initiatives become a reality it will be really good four tourists. It will help them save time and the ordeal of standing in queues to get those tickets”.
Kamala Karikalan, Executive Director, Mysore Zoo, Palace Board Deputy Director T S Subramanya, Chamundi Hill Temple Executive Officer Prasad were also present.
