Bharathi Vishnuvardan, Arundathi Nag to get Alvas Nudisiri award

Mysuru: The Alva’s Education Foundation will be organising its annual ‘Alvas Nudisiri’ the 15th Kannada Nadu Nudi Culture Conference at Sundari Ananda Alva campus in Moodbidri from November 16 to 18. The three-day Kannada conference will be inaugurated by Shadakshari Shettar who is a professor and scholar, conducting research in the fields of Indian archaeology, art history, history of religions and philosophy as well as classical literature.

As many as 12 achievers including G D Joshi from Mumbai, A V Narasimhamurthy from Mysuru, actors Bharathi Vishnuvardan and Arundhati Nag also from Bengaluru who have worked towards the language and culture will be honoured with ‘Alvas Nudisiri award’ at the concluding ceremony. The award comprises of Rs 25,000 and a memento. Prior to the main event, on November 15, ‘Alvas Vidyarthisiri’, a cultural programme by students will be held. On November 16, before the inauguration of the main event, nearly 85 troupes will take part in a cultural procession. There will be a variety of programmes which includes agriculture, literary meet, cinematography and photography.

For the first time, the organisers are conducting ‘Chalana Chitrotsava’, a screening of select Kannada films on all the three days. After the screening, the directors of these movies will have an interaction with students and other audience.
