Mysuru: As India commemorates 75 years of its Republic and the adoption of the Constitution, a first-of-its-kind museum dedicated to this landmark document has been inaugurated at OP Jindal Global University (JGU) in Sonipat, Haryana. Opened on Constitution Day, November 26, 2024, the museum showcases memorabilia, documents, photographs, and artwork chronicling India’s history and the making of the Constitution.
The museum highlights the contributions of the Framers of the Constitution, with special invitations extended to their descendants. Among the attendees were C.P. Belliappa and Dr. Kavery Poonacha Nambisan, the children of C.M. Poonacha, a representative of Kodagu (then Coorg) in the Constituent Assembly. Poonacha, at just 36 years old, was one of the youngest signatories of the Constitution.
C.M. Poonacha’s bust is among the 300 displayed at the museum, honoring the Framers of the Constitution. The museum also boasts innovative features, including an AI-generated interactive image of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Constitution, enabling visitors to engage with history in an unprecedented way.
The museum stands as a tribute to the monumental efforts that shaped modern India, inspiring future generations to uphold the democratic values enshrined in the Constitution.
