Mysuru: An accused who was jailed over chain theft and then let out on bail once again fell into police net while attempting to sell the stolen chain.
The incident occurred in Vijayanagar police station limits. Manja alias Kalla Manja alias Bili Manja (26), a chain snatcher is facing more than 23 robbery charges at Srirangapattana, T Narasipura and other stations. Recently he was out on bail but continued his habitual offence of stealing chains.
On March 3, he stole a gold chain worth Rs 1,10000 and on March 13 while he was attempting to sell it, the police nabbed him. Along with Manja, police have arrested Chandan (24) for helping him.
Both the accused have been produced in court and remanded to judicial custody, said Mysuru City Police Commissioner Dr A Subramanyeshwara Rao.
