Mysuru: The district court adjourned the hearing of the case related to bribery involving Minister for PWD H C Mahadevappa’s son Sunil Bose, to March 21, despite the presence of all the accused.

The case related to payment of bribe scheduled for hearing today in the local court was adjourned since the accused has filed a plea in the High court not to allow the local court in Mysuru to proceed with the case. In the high court, the plea from the accused is due for hearing on March 16. Keeping that in view, Judge Sudhindranath adjourned the hearing to March 21.

Case history

A scientist named Alphonsus working in Geology Department was arrested by the Lokayukta police in 2010 for accepting Rs 1 Lakh in bribe. But the scientist had blamed Sunil Bose for compelling him to accept the bribe and hence asked to consider Bose as one of the accused. However, in the charge sheet, the police left out Bose’s name.

Hence, the scientist had questioned the decision and filed a plea at Mysuru District Court. Following the plea, Sunil Bose had filed a petition urging not to consider him as the accused.

All accused appeared in court today

All the accused including Sunil Bose, scientist Alphonsus and Raju were present in the court premises today.
