Chamarajanagara: MLA C. S. Niranjan Kumar said that the move to increase the reservation has made a big contribution to the society.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Hobli-level Sri Maharshi Valmiki Jayantyotsava celebrations at Begur Village in the Taluk. Later, the BJP Government issued an order to include the Talwars and Parivar,” he said. The community’s seers had staged a 257-day sit-in protest against the increase in reservation for Valmiki Samaja. There was also a huge outcry over the increase in reservations. He said that the Government has made a big contribution to the society by increasing the reservation.
“The Ramayana written by Valmiki is a great book. Valmiki’s ideals should be imbibed. We too should be transformed like Valmiki. Valmiki Jayanti was celebrated at the Taluk level. Now it has behun happening at the Hobli level. The Jayanti should be held in every village and every nook and corner to commemorate Valmiki, he said.
