Chamarajanagara: The villagers rescued two leopard cubs in a sugarcane field at Katnawadi Village of Chamarajanagara Taluk on Sunday December 25 under the Biligiriranganatha Temple Tiger Reserve.
Two cubs about 15 to 20 days old were found while harvesting sugarcane crops by farmer Guru of Katnawadi Village. Chamarajanagara Zone Forest Officers visited the place and left the leopard cubs in the field. The officials fixed trap cameras in the field to watch the movement of the mother leopard. The leopard might come at night and shift the cubs to a safer place, an official said.
After finding the cubs, the farmers celebrated by clicking photos with the cubs and the pictures went viral on social media.
