Chamarajanagara: A child-friendly and Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man and his mother to 20 years rigorous imprisonment each under the POCSO Act for forcibly marrying and sexually assaulting a minor girl.
Sharan Raj (25) and his mother Selvi (45) of Tiruchangur Taluk from Tamil Nadu are rhe convicted.
On September 9, 2018, the 14-year-old girl was forcibly taken away on a bike by Sharan Raj and his brother Sasikumar (who is absconding). Later, his mother Selvi forcibly married off the girl to Sharan Raj. Sharan Raj had sexually assaulted the girl too.
