Chamarajanagara: MM Hills Temple records 2.7Cr in 5 days

Chamarajanagara: On the occasion of Mahashivaratri Jatra, a large number of devotees flocked to the Malemahadeshwara Hill in Hanur Taluk of the District, which is an important pilgrimage centre of South India, and the temple has received huge income.

Mahashivaratri festival was celebrated from February 17 to 21 last and an estimated 12 lakh people visited the shrinen during these days. Devotees performed various sevas and utsavas. It is reported that 2.70 Crore Rupees income has been received by Malemahadeshwara Hill Development Authority in just 5 days. The devotees from Bengaluru, Ramanagara, Mandya and Kanakapura have crossed the river at the Cauvery confluence and arrived on foot to witness the Shivaratri Fair. The Transport Department had provided 500 bus services continuously for 5 days for the fair. A large number of devotees came from Tamil Nadu to have a darshan of Madeshwara and offered special poija and participated in other services including Basava Vahana, Huli Vahana, and Rudrakshi Mantapotsava.

The Temple received Rs. 88,21,257 income from gold chariot utsava, Rs. 6,71,700 from various pooja services, Rs. 11,56,250 from Mishra Prasad, Rs 6,16,250 from the information centre, Rs. 1,45,072 from Puduvattu Service, Rs . 55,38,000 from special entry fee and Rs. 92,59,975 from Laddu sales, Rs. 1,08,420 from stone sugar Rs. 2,24,020 from Teertha Prasad, Rs. 1,49,670 from Deva Prasada bag, Rs. 2,64,450 from miscellaneous service, Rs. 1,17,574 from rice service, and Rs. 2,70,72,638 from other services, said Secretary of the MM Temple Authority S. Katyaini.
