Mysore : Manju, a resident of Vidyaranyapuram in city, who has been awarded the sub-contract works worth Rs. 2.15 crore at the Dasara Exhibition to be held as part of Dasara-2014 got a threat call in Hindi received from Mumbai on Saturday evening.
“You will be shot dead in your house if you go ahead with the Dasara Exhibition Sub-Contract worth Rs. 2 crore,” was the treat call.
The city-based sub-contractor, in his complaint to Nazarbad Police filed on the same evening, has said that he got the threat call at about 7 pm after repeated missed calls from Mobile number 77380-23924 during which the caller speaking at the other end asked him to give up the contract.
It is reported that Manju had taken sub-contract of works for erecting commercial shops at a cost of Rs. 1.40 crore and setting up of stalls for eateries at Rs. 75 lakh from Bangalore-based Funworld, which had been awarded the exhibition contract for Rs. 4.7 crore during the auction held in city recently.
Though the identity of the caller is yet to be established, it is learnt that the call originated from Borivali in Mumbai.
