Mysuru: Chief minister Siddaramaiah has asked his son to file a defamation suit against BJP MLC BJ Puttaswamy for levelling baseless allegations against him.
Siddaramaiah had arrived on October 7 morning at Mysuru Airport to take part in the funeral proceedings of his eldest sister Siddamma (91) who breathed her last after a prolonged illness. Speaking to reporters on arrival, the CM said he had directed his son to lodge a defamation case for levelling baseless allegations against him in allotting land to Shantha Industries.
Terming the allegations as false, CM said the BJP leaders had started making such allegations with assembly elections fast approaching to gain political mileage. It was Shobha Karandlaje to begin with followed by B J Puttaswamy, CM added.
Ruling out holding the discussion with prominent BJP leader from Mysuru C H Vijayashankar on the latter’s entry into Congress, CM said Vijayashankar had come to his residence to take part in the first death anniversary celebrations of his son Rakesh and the media had used that photograph to give a “different” dimension.
