Bengaluru: The BBMP has formed a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to implement the smart city proposal. As per the proposal, only four constituencies of the city are included under the scheme.
According to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared by the BBMP, this scheme will be implemented in four constituencies of the city including Malleshwaram, Shivajinagar, Chamarajapet and Basavanagudi. A total of 16 wards will be covered under the project.
According to BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad, DPR has been prepared for the project with an outlay of Rs 1,781.96 Crore. Out of this amount, Rs 500 Crore will be released by the union government.
“This SPV will be headed by the state urban development minister. All local MLAs and MPs will be the part of this SPV. This SPV will only call and finalise tenders for the implementation of the project. SPV will have the representatives from both state and central governments beside BBMP,,” he explained.
