Mysuru: The Dasara state-level run and cycle race for men and women will be held on October 14, 15 and 16. The 10 km state-level Dasara running race will be will flagged off at the University of Mysore Oval ground on October 14 at 6 AM.
Usually, the Dasara sports committee would conduct a half marathon race, but this year they have decided to conduct a 10 km race for men and women, a 6 km race for college boys and girls, a 5 km race for high school boys and girls, a 3 km race for primary school boys and girls and a 2 km race for senior citizens.
More than 2500 people are expected to participate in the running race. Attractive cash prizes will be awarded to winners in each category.
The two-day state-level 50 km and 80 km cycle race for men and women will be held on October 15 and 16. On day one, the 50 km race will commence at 7 AM for men and at 10 AM for women. On day two, the 80 km race will be flagged off at 7 AM for men and at 10 AM for women. Nearly 110 participants, including national and international cyclists, will be seen in action during the two-day event. The first three winners in both the categories will get a cash award of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 respectively.
