The deceased have been identified as  Manjula,39, who worked as a tailor, Kumaraswamy,45, Archana,19, and Swathi 17.

Mysuru City Police  Commissioner Ramesh Banot visited the spot and conducted an investigation. It is suspected that they died of suffocation due to a gas cylinder leak. It has been reported that all four died two days ago.

According to the sources, the family was originally from Sakharayapatna in Chikkamagaluru district and had been living in Mysore for the past 30 years.  All four had gone to attend a relative’s wedding last Thursday. After the wedding, they went to their hometown Sakharayapatna. From there, they returned to Mysuru on Monday morning.

The gas leak is suspected to have occurred on Monday night. This led to their suffocation and death. The house door was not opened for the entire day on Tuesday (May 21). Today (May 22), Archana and Swathi’s college friends came to the house and saw the incident. Four gas cylinders have been found in the house.

The family had attended a wedding on Sunday and returned home on Monday morning. They went to bed that night, but by morning, all had died in their sleep. The house was small and poorly ventilated, with closed windows. The police are investigating the case.
