Mysuru: Finally, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has opened up about the future of his son Yathindra Siddaramaiah, who sacrificed the candidacy from the Varuna assembly constituency so that his father could run from that constituency.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in the previous Assembly election had contested from Varuna constituency which his son Yathindra used to represent.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Siddaramaiah said that the Congress party high command had promised him that he would be made an MLC. “Let us see what the party high command does,” he said.

Siddaramaiah mentioned that initially, it was planned for him to contest from the Kolar seat, and Yathindra, as usual, from his Varuna seat. However, at the last moment, it was decided that he should contest from Varuna, and Yathindra was asked to sacrifice his candidacy.

“The party leadership had promised him that he would be made an MLC; let us wait and see,” said Siddaramaiah.

Regarding former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s allegation that his government is indulging in phone tapping of the opposition leaders, Siddaramaiah said that the former CM is trying to divert the issue of the Prajwal Revanna case by raising this issue, which is far from the truth.

He added that his government is ready to conduct elections for local bodies; the process would be initiated when the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha is lifted.

In the morning, the Chief Minister visited, famous Mylari Hotel in Nazarabad area of the city and tasted Dose and Idli with the local leaders, he son, Yathindra was also present.
