Mysuru: The Congress party has not hit the rock bottom, but certain leaders within the party have lost the entire ground, opined former state minister H Vishwanath, indirectly taking a dig at H Y Meti.
The delay by the chief minister in taking action over the sex scandal incident caused serious damage to the party image, stated Vishwanath, speaking at a private function and went on to add that the latest entrants into the party fold are doing more harm than good.
The position of state congress chief is more important than that of chief minister and keeping that in mind, present state chief should quit as state congress chief, Vishwanath said.
Incidentally, state congress chief G Parameshwara is also the state home minister.
Not sparing BJP, the former minister said the note ban had led to rupee depreciation and prime minister is solely responsible for the subsequent mess.
The failure of the central government to hold the parliament session and the latest statement by BJP veteran L K Advani clearly reflects the status of affairs within the country, Vishwanath said.
