Hunsur City Police arrested a youth for manufacturing a long gun and publicly displaying it online.
The accused, Kursan from Shabbir Nagar, not only crafted the weapon but also filmed reels of himself wielding it on public roads, creating panic among residents.
He posted these videos on social media platforms, drawing widespread attention.
Acting on their own initiative, police registered a case without waiting for a complaint and swiftly took Kursan into custody.
Authorities said the act of displaying weapons online and inciting fear would be dealt with strictly.
Further investigation is underway to determine how the firearm was made.
