Mysore: Speaking after accepting the official invitation, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, clarifying that she never intended to blackmail the Government, said that she only sought the government to respect the sentiments of the Royal family which was observing a year-long mourning following the death of her husband.
Urging the Government not to conduct grand cultural programmes, inside the Palace, she said that she would not object to conduct of grand programmes elsewhere adding that the sword will be placed on the Golden Throne during the private Durbar of this year’s Dasara as a successor to Wadiyar is yet to be named.

She also said that the Royal family which respects tradition will hold all other rituals performed during Dasara as done in previous years.
